Stanford senior outside hitter Kathryn Plummer, who was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, earned VolleyballMag.com's National Player of the Year, it was announced Tuesday.
Plummer also won the award last season, in addition to earning national honors from the AVCA and espnW.
She completed her collegiate career leading Stanford to its second straight national championship and its third NCAA title over her four seasons. The Aliso Viejo native collected the 23rd national player of the year honor for the Cardinal all-time.
Plummer averaged 6.75 kills per set on .416 hitting, 2.60 digs per set, 1.10 blocks per set and 7.70 points per set in the postseason. She finished with 22 kills on .459 hitting, 10 digs and three blocks in the championship sweep over No. 5 Wisconsin.
Overall Plummer, who missed 10 matches due to injury, hit .330 with 5.22 kills, 1.92 digs and 5.79 points per set. She was not eligible for Pac-12 or AVCA postseason awards due to minimum matches/sets played requirements during the regular season. She finishes her career third all-time in school history with 1,975 kills and fourth with 4.40 kills per set.
Plummer was joined on the VolleyballMag.com's first team by seniors Jenna Gray and Morgan Hentz. Middle blocker Madeleine Gates was a third-team pick, while Audriana Fitzmorris was honorable mention.
Stanford's senior class finished its career with a 121-16 overall record and a 22-1 mark in the NCAA tournament.
