For at least one more day, Jason Garrett watch continues.
Everyone certainly expects the Cowboys to let Garrett’s contract expire on Jan. 14, but...everyone also kind of expected the Cowboys to make an announcement by now. A quick glance at social media and no one seems to know what will happen.
Will Garrett find a spot in the Cowboys’ front office, will he be written out of Jerry Jones’ will, or will Jones have his grandson text Garrett the bad news?
With a third meeting between Garrett and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, set to take place Thursday, everything is still very much in play.
Here is how Twitter is handling this protracted period of inaction before, what everyone presumes to be, an inevitable separation.
There's some heavy irony in that Jason Garrett's situation is being taken "day-by-day."

Jerry & Jason Garrett will reportedly meet AGAIN tomorrow, which is yet ANOTHER sign he will retain his "son" because of all the glass-half-full stats the offense put up and because Dak got hurt before the game at Philly. WAKE UP, JERRY: JASON WAS THE BIGGEST REASON FOR 8-8.

Is there any chance Jason Garrett can survive in Dallas? @AlbertBreer: "If you had asked me a week or two ago, no chance. As this drags out ... there are now people on Jerry's staff speculating that maybe Jason Garrett has a chance."

Jason Garrett has officially lasted as Cowboys head coach longer than Friends lasted on Netflix.

I bet Jerry Jones is gauging interest from available coaches before parting ways with Jason Garrett. Smart move in my opinion. If there isn’t a clear upgrade, what’s the point of replacing Garrett?

At the end of this Jason Garrett is gonna end up in some kinda position in the Cowboys front office, isn't he?

Maybe Jason Garrett is trying to convince Jerry to let him be the GM? VP of the things? #Cowboys

If Jason Garrett had any self respect he would say I'm out, I don't want to still be friends, and take the head coaching job at Maryland like an adult.

Jason Garrett is just going to meet with Jerry Jones for two hours a day every day with no resolution until September at which point he will walk directly to the stadium and start coaching the opener.
